These are a list of our favorite beaches of Costa Rica that we have visited.
There are so many beaches on both the Atlantic & Pacific of this small country that it's nearly impossible to single out each one.

These are simply our favorite beaches. Keep in mind that we prefer to avoid the crowds & other tourist so some of the most popular beaches might not make our list.

The Windows Into The Sea

Playa Ventanas is located just just outside of Ojochal. The beach has caves on the north end that are like windows looking out into the sea. This beach is one of many in the area but it's not park of the National Park that encompasses most of the area. It's free unlike many of the others with the exception of a nominal parking fee.Â
This beach is made up mostly of dark sand but it's in a small bay secluded from the surrounding area with greenery all around it.
Many locals come to this beach so you can be one of the Tico. There are small concessions set up that sell amazing food, alcohol or sarongs.
This is a great place to sit and relax or go explore the windows during low tide.
